Google is setting up to cure blindness through Artificial Intelligence.

Google has declared merging between its company DeepMind and National Health Service (NHS). In a recent blog post, the search engine giant has announced its objective to cure blindness with its Artificial Intelligence technology.

DeepMind is a British artificial intelligence company which was acquired by Google in 2014. Google DeepMind has developed various and accurate algorithms to study various aspects and behaviors of humans. With the help of those processes, machines can comprehend the psychological dimensions of a person. Google will expand the usage of DeepMind’s algorithms in curing the eye diseases.

Google has already started utilizing these skills of DeepMind to analyze over 1 million samples of a human eye collected by NHS.

Patients who are suffering from health related problems like diabetes are likely to encounter eye degeneration in near future. One of the officials of DeepMind has said that it is still a challenging task for surgeons and doctors to analyze the sample quickly and meet the patient and started medication. He also added that no computers could accurately determine what is going on the human eye.

The current project which is initiated by Google DeepMind and NHS is right now limited to the local NHS hospital of United Kingdom. Professor Sir Peng Tee Khaw has said that since the eye diseases of the world may be doubled in the next 30 to 40 years, we must find a way to cure the eye disease through technology.

Not only Google but its parent company Alphabet too is investing its resources, techniques, and finances towards the welfare of people in health related issues. They are one of the keen organizations who are working to cure and diagnosis of the various diseases.

Google is already a giant company in its segment, its expansion and collaboration of the different segments with its technology seems a humane approach towards society. They are not limiting their skills towards the improvisations in IT-sector only.
